Portrait Photography

Whether formal or informal, a good portrait conveys the character of the subject. We take portraits of individuals, families, and other groups at home, for holidays or special occasions, or just because you want them. High school seniors and college graduates - if you want something special just ask for the “graduates deal”.

We make an extra effort to make your pictures special – and that means making them about the people in them. We can come to your house, office, or favorite scenic location. Instead of a generic backdrop or photography set, we can take your picture in the setting that you see yourself in.

We welcome block sitting sessions from groups, businesses and churches, with discounts and fund-raising opportunities. Just call and ask what we can do for your group.

Wedding photography

We approach wedding photography as “event journalism”. Weddings, even the most intricately planned ones, are spontaneous, emotional and romantic communal events. Families and friends are called together to witness and offer continual support to two people making a promise to one another. Each bride and groom brings their individual character to the wedding, as does each family member and guest, leading each wedding to be unique. Event journalism of a wedding is about capturing the action in context as it unfolds - not about dictating and staging your wedding so the album is full of stiff generic pictures!

We at chipyork.biz photography believe that pictures from this special day should show the love, romance, action and humor as it really happens. Magic moments happen as the wedding party readies for the ceremony, as well as through the wedding and into the reception. We focus on the action of the wedding, the people and their interaction. Yes, we still do formals and groupings upon request. It is our goal to get you superior, personal yet elegant formal pictures, in a timely fashion that gets the wedding party back to the actual wedding events.

Further, it is our belief that wedding photographers should be polite, helpful, and as unobtrusive as possible. The day is about the couple celebrating their union with their family and community, and the process of taking the pictures as well as the images themselves should reflect that.

Bridal Photography

This is the way to get the ultimate pictures of the bride in her wedding best, without keeping her away from the socializing of the big day. Here the bride can look her best for the camera, in a relaxed environment where she can focus on being photographed. There are many reason brides opt for a pre- or post-wedding sitting.

Perhaps the Bride wants a large variety in the pictures that cannot be achieved on the wedding day, or she does not want be distracted by the many other demands of the big day. Maybe a desired location for the formals will be not available for wedding day. Some couples opt for a bride and groom sittings for newspaper announcements, or just to have their pictures done on a less busy day. Some brides even desire to have pictures taken in other apparel of the day than their wedding dress (reception gown or honeymoon traveling clothes, for example).

Bridal sittings can be done in a studio space, in a home with a portable studio set up, in an outdoor setting like a favorite garden, or other significant location. The rest of the wedding party and family members can be photographed in the same manner.

Events

ChipYork.biz is experienced in event photography - parties, dances, festivals, or formal occasions. We can take photographs for personal memorabilia, participants in general, for marketing, or for publication. You can choose candids, formals, formal with backdrops and props, or a combination of the aforementioned. Images can be distributed via CD-roms, web page posting, or prints. Where appropriate, individuals can be contacted with their own proofs for purchase.
